Arlo has done independent and commissioned work as a digital artist and illustrator. His independent creations are inspired by his academic studies in East Asian visual culture.
In 2020, Arlo began a consistent effort to create art that reflects his passion for East Asian visual culture. Late in that year, he suffered an accident-related injury that forced him to take bed rest. During this time, he stayed motivated and grounded by dedicating himself to his art. By 2023, Arlo's interest in East Asian media began to focus more specifically on Danmei.
