Evolution Body Piercing

2023
In 2023, Arlo created a new website for Evolution Body Piercing. When designing the new site, Arlo needed to create new graphics and assets. A primary goal of this redesign was to create a more comprehensive explanation of the studio’s pricing, ID requirements, aftercare guides, and jewelry information. To meet this goal, Arlo created diagrams and charts depicting piercing placements and associated costs, informational graphics, and animations to exemplify how the jewelry mechanics work.
In addition, Arlo was tasked with defining the studio's brand identity and creating a brand standard that included fonts, colors, shapes, composition, and photography standards. In this process, he built a visual iconography that matched the studio's welcoming, warm, and vibrant atmosphere.

Arlo’s Redesigned Evolution Website
One of the most significant improvements achieved during the website redesign was the development of diagrams and charts to explain piercing names and placements, outline piercing-associated costs, and clarify client ID requirements.
Before initiating this project, Arlo dedicated considerable time to working with clients to identify information gaps and barriers to accessing information. This experience revealed that clients had the most questions regarding costs and age & ID requirements. Even though this information was already available on the website, confusion persisted.
By collaborating with clients to pinpoint their obstacles in obtaining information, Arlo discovered that numerous inquiries about costs originated from their difficulty in identifying appropriate names and jewelry for piercings. Similarly, many questions regarding ID requirements stemmed from the diverse yet specific acceptable legal documentation combinations.
To address these issues, he created charts and diagrams. For piercing placements and jewelry, he developed anatomy charts displaying different piercings, corresponding jewelry options, and associated costs. He designed a chart and dropdown system for ID requirements that mirrored the breakdown of acceptable forms and documents outlined by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services I-9 form.
These updates proved immensely helpful in providing clients with the information they needed, leading to a noticeable reduction in client calls regarding IDs and pricing. Furthermore, the number of clients arriving at the studio without the necessary identification decreased. The success of these tools in educating clients resulted in their inclusion in new employee training programs.
In addition to these charts and diagrams, Arlo also created illustrations depicting aftercare instructions for both the website and printed information brochures. He also animated diagrams to help educate clients on how their jewelry works.
